In order to increase further the performance of the latest generation of turbine engines and taking environmental technology standards into account at the same time, turbine manufacturers are introducing new materials and new production techniques.
The new materials employed in modern turbines must exhibit the physical characteristics necessary to meet demanding performance criteria, yet may present problems in their working and processing at times.
